Route book
A whole wall set or stripped in one call. V-scale and YDS parsed and sorted properly, colours, tags, setters, and consensus grades once five members have voted.

Set
A crew strips a wall and puts nine new problems up in a single call — grades, colours, tags and setters — and the set report is on the public site before they have packed up.

Climb
Members log a flash or a project from the app. Logging it again amends the tick instead of adding a second, which is what keeps the leaderboard honest.

Assess
Certificates in order, with minimum ages and expiry. A whole course signed off in one call. Revocation takes back the walls it opened.

Memberships, punch cards, day passes and course places on one bill per member, for the whole term, in one pass.

The desk
Check-in that refuses nobody.
The scan raises a lapsed certificate, an unsigned waiver or an overdrawn punch card — and then lets the member in anyway, because the desk decides, not the software. Everything it raised is on the screen in front of the person who can fix it.
Who may climb what
Each zone carries the certificate it needs and a minimum age. Revoking a certificate closes those walls the moment it is recorded, because clearance is a computed view rather than a stored flag — and the fob groups that depended on it are withdrawn on the next door reconcile.
Clauses that appear when they apply
A clause conditional on a birthdate given two fields earlier. Guardian rules a grandparent cannot satisfy. Signed on the phone, on the website, or from a public link with no account — then a signed PDF and a verification code.
Loans and day passes
Shoes, harnesses, chalk bags, helmets, belay devices — several out in one transaction, one loan per item enforced by the database, and retirement dates on what wears out.
Schools and parties
Enquiry, quote, confirmation. One waiver link the group circulates ahead of time, so thirty children do not arrive with thirty unsigned forms.
Partners
A board for members looking for somebody to climb with, and a message thread between a member and the desk.

Plan a visit, memberships, courses, kids and youth, groups, what's set, and a live occupancy figure — plain HTML on the gym's own domain, fed by the API.
Questions we get asked
What does venueOS Crag do for a climbing gym?
A route book for what is on the wall, a certificate ladder for belay and lead clearances, live occupancy so you know who is in the building, competitions, and the whole venueOS core underneath: memberships, waivers, check-in, door access, punch cards and billing.
How do waivers and guardian signatures work?
Waivers are editable documents with clauses that appear based on birthdate. They are signed in the app, on the gym's website, or from a public link with no account, with guardian rules for minors, signed PDFs and verification codes at the desk.
Can check-in block someone with a lapsed certificate?
Check-in raises a lapsed certificate or an unsigned waiver at the desk and refuses nobody by default — a person, not the software, decides. Door access is different: fob and card groups derive from membership, role and clearance and are pushed to Kisi or Brivo.
Does it support day passes and punch cards?
Yes. Terms and rates cover prepaid, recurring, punch card and drop-in, with one current term per member enforced by the schema, and payment online through Stripe or at the desk.
