The curling-shaped tenth. Everything else on this page — members, waivers, the door, the lounge rental, the invoice — comes from the core and is identical to what a climbing gym runs.

Register
A four-step public form, an approval queue in the office, and payment by Stripe or at the club. Waivers signed before anybody is on the ice.

Draw
Skips enter their own teams, or the office draws balanced teams from the registration pool by skill. Spares are their own list.

Schedule
A round robin laid onto real dates, draw times and sheets, around blackout dates and the bonspiel weekend. Previewed before it is committed.

Score & bill
Line scores entered end by end, standings computed by a view, and the treasurer bills the whole season in one pass.

What else is in the box
The parts that are not about curling.
These are the core modules, and they are where most of a club's week actually goes. Read them in full on the platform page.
Access by standing
Fob and card groups derived from membership, role and waiver clearance, pushed to the Kisi or Brivo account the club already has. The door log comes back. Every gate is re-checked on each reconcile, so standing expires by itself rather than waiting for somebody to pick a lapsed member out by name.
Rentals that cannot collide
Enquiry, quote, invoice. Two people may ask about the same Saturday; two confirmed bookings may not exist. The same constraint protects each sheet of ice.
Duties
The Thursday lunch rotation, bar shifts, ice crew, draw masters. Published to the app, broadcast by email, and visible to the person who has to fill the gap.
Check-in with no signal
A rotating code in the members' app, derived on the phone rather than fetched, scanned at the desk. Or a printed code by the door that the member scans instead.
Broadcasts
Email and push to a league, a team, a role or everybody entered in the bonspiel — from the same screen, to the same list, with one send.
The club's own site
A drop-in replacement for what the club has now: leagues, bonspiels, rentals, membership, calendar, sponsors, gallery. Plain HTML on the club's own domain, fed by JSON and an iCal subscription.
Questions we get asked
Does venueOS Curl handle league draws and scheduling?
Yes. It supports five league formats, generates a round robin onto real days, times and sheets with blackout dates, and lets a convener preview a draw before committing it. Ice allocations per sheet are protected by the same constraint that stops a double booking.
Can members enter line scores and see standings?
Line scores are entered end by end, totals are computed server-side, and standings are a view over the games — so correcting a scoresheet corrects the table automatically. Forfeits and corrections are tracked.
How are bonspiels run?
A public entry form with a waitlist when full, and an A/B/C/D ladder that advances itself as results come in. Entrants can be broadcast to by email and push from the same screen as the league lists.
Does it replace our membership and dues system too?
Yes. Registration, terms and rates, invoicing, season billing in one pass, Stripe and desk payments, waivers with guardian rules, and a treasurer's summary are all part of the venueOS core every edition shares.

The Lindsay Curling Club in Lindsay, Ontario, founded 1876, which runs thirteen leagues on the platform. That is where the draw formats, convener workflow and bar-shift rota came from.
